Dr. Mark Leung is a Lecturer in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. He was the 2011-2013 Journal Club Director for the University of Toronto Sport & Exercise Medicine fellowship. He completed his Primary Care Sport Medicine Fellowship at the University of Toronto, and a Master’s focusing on Medical Education at the University of Toronto.
He is currently a Team Physician for Canada Men’s Basketball, from which he has “earned” two bronze medals. He is also a Team Physician at the University of Toronto, where he works at the campus Sport Medicine clinic. He was an event physician at the 2010 Winter Olympics at the Whistler Sliding Centre covering Bobsled, Luge, and Skeleton. He has also been a Chief Medical Officer for Skate Canada and a consulting physician for the Toronto FC soccer team, the CFL combine, and Hockey Canada.
Dr. Leung is currently actively involved in musculoskeletal education for medical students and residents at the University of Toronto. He is part of an initiative to improve the musculoskeletal knowledge of family medicine residents at Mount Sinai Hospital. His clinical interests include evidence-based sport medicine. He is an active member of the Canadian Academy of Sport & Exercise Medicine, on their Team Physician Committee, Cardiac Subcommittee, and Research Committee
